This session re-studies one of the oldest and most controversial topics in adaptation research - fidelity. If adaptation (i.e. film/television adaptation based on a classic English novel) is understood in the light of reception, then the notion of fidelity is no longer about texts. In this view, fidelity is not to an original text but to a reader’s or an audience member’s original experience with a text. This brand of fidelity is thus not textual but personal - it is about personal experiences, perceptions and beliefs. Drawing on the reader/audience’s experiences and perceptions as data sources, the study of fidelity will be the belief studies in adaptation, which allows us to emphasise fidelity as part of the reception process and at the same time provides a new dimension to the study of adaptation.

主讲人简介：

张培，教授、博士、硕士研究生导师。天津财经大学人文学院院长、文学学科学位分委员会主席、外国语言文学一级学科负责人、国家级一流专业“商务英语”专业负责人。第五届天津市人民政府学位委员会学科评议组成员、天津市人民政府学位委员会专业学位教指委委员。曾就读于南开中学、南开大学；后赴英国留学。 2009年获得英国诺丁汉大学（The University of Nottingham）教育学博士学位。研究方向：语言教育研究方法、语言教师认知。

主持完成国家社科基金项目“应用语言学研究中的混合法研究”；主持完成教育部人文社会科学研究规划基金项目“中、西应用语言学质化研究趋势”；主持完成教育部留学回国人员科研启动基金项目“大学英语教师课堂教学建构”；主持完成中央财政专项基金项目“外语人才培养与创新团队建设”；主持在研天津社科重点项目“混合方法论的系列问题研究”。入选天津市高校学科领军人才培养计划。获得第八届高等教育天津市级教学成果奖；获得天津市第十五、十六届社会科学优秀成果奖。

在《中国外语》、《外语与外语教学》等CSSCI来源期刊上独立发表论文16篇。在International Jounrnal of Multiple Research Approaches、《外国语文》等国际方法学重要期刊以及外语类核心期刊发表论文多篇。独立出版学术专著四部。
